Case File · VIDIZMO · 2023–2024

One company.
Three products.
Every buyer. One voice.

A police chief and a fashion training manager do not read the same way. Neither do HIPAA and CJIS. For fourteen months I wrote for all of them, across three products. It worked because I did the research myself first: I studied twelve competitors, read the compliance rules, learned every feature, and used the products with my own hands.

The Thesis
Why my copy converts and most does not

Most SaaS copy fails because the writer never studied what your buyer compares you to.

You may have hired a copywriter before. They sent back something fluent and on-brand. It described your features in nicer words. It did not move anyone.

Here is why. Your buyer is not comparing you to nothing. They have four other tabs open: competitor pages, pricing, reviews, and the rules they must follow. If the writer never studied those tabs, the copy is a monologue.

Every line I wrote at VIDIZMO started somewhere real. A competitor's feature list. A lost-deal note. A regulator's own wording. A feature I had just tested myself. Then I wrote. The research is not an extra service I sell you. It is the reason the sentences work.

My title was Product Marketing Strategist, not copywriter. I was hired to figure out what to say. Writing it well was how I proved the thinking held.

Why Me
The part that is hard to hire for

I am an electronics engineer who writes marketing copy.

NED University, Electronics Engineering. Then a strategic marketing diploma from IBA. I did not come to SaaS writing from an English degree. I came from a field where you may not describe a system until you have read how it actually works. That difference shows up in four places.

01

Research first, always

I never start at the blank page. I start in the competitor's feature list, the regulator's own wording, or the lost-deal notes. By the time I write a sentence, the argument is already decided. Writing just proves the thinking held.

02

Competitor analysis I actually read

I never write about a competitor I have not read end to end. At VIDIZMO, that meant one deep research file covering twelve platforms. It lives in one place on this page, whole and unhurried, in the Sales Enablement section below. See the research file ↓

03

Product understanding, not product praise

I read VIDIZMO's technical documents myself and used all three products with my own hands. So when I wrote about access control, I could name the six exact user roles and the exact login providers (Azure AD, ADFS, Okta, OneLogin) instead of hiding behind vague words like "seamless" and "precision".

04

Consumer psychology and audience clarity

In every brief, I named the exact reader and their buying stage before I wrote a word. A training manager just learning the topic reads differently than a compliance officer comparing tools. And on the sales battle cards I wrote questions, not claims, because a buyer who reaches a conclusion on their own will defend it for you.

Centerpiece Campaign
The whole thing, start to finish

IACP 2023: I carried VIDIZMO's entire presence at the world's largest police conference.

The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Annual Conference is the largest law enforcement event in the world: 16,000 public safety professionals in San Diego. I built every piece VIDIZMO brought to it. The press release that went live on PR Newswire. The 31-day social plan. And the scripts for the product videos, covering all three products. I wrote the scripts and directed the graphics and video team through production. One campaign, researched once, written many ways.

"Reclaiming Trust.
Rewriting the Narrative."

Tagline: Uniting Communities, Empowering Protectors
Opening Lines

Public trust in police is hanging by a thread.
Cases of misconduct. Evidence problems. Rising.
Every headline pulls the rope tighter.

But what if the footage told the whole story?

Introducing VIDIZMO EnterpriseTube.
Your tool for change.

Uniting communities. Empowering protectors.

Script Strategy

Opens with a real statistic on falling public trust. Uses visual metaphors, a fraying rope and puzzle pieces locking, that speak to police leadership culture, not procurement culture. The product is the answer, never the opening.

Deliverable · The Product Films, All Three Products
Three products, three films, one team I directed.

I wrote and storyboarded a film for every product: EnterpriseTube, the Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS), and Redactor. Then I directed the graphics and video team through production. Each film opens on a different fear, because a police chief and a compliance officer do not respond to the same first line. What you see below are real excerpts, in the exact on-screen style of the scripts. Each full script runs much longer.

The Diagnosis
Who the client is

VIDIZMO builds AI video and evidence content management software. One wrong word can lose a court case.

VIDIZMO sells to police departments, hospitals, banks, and government agencies. When the file is legal evidence, there is no undo button. A leaked face or a broken chain of custody ends a case, not a quarter. So every claim I wrote had to survive a lawyer reading it. The writing also had to respect five strict rulebooks: HIPAA for health data, CJIS for police data, GDPR and CCPA for privacy, and FOIA for public records.

The Products
What VIDIZMO sells

Three products. Three very different worlds of buyers.

Each product speaks to a different kind of person. What they care about. What scares them. How they decide. I had to master every language at once, all under one brand.

ONE Voice DEMS EVIDENCE ENTERPRISE TUBE VIDEO REDACTOR AI PRIVACY THREE PRODUCTS · ONE STRATEGY LAYER · FOURTEEN MONTHS
Product 01 · Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS)

Digital Evidence

Sells to police chiefs and evidence managers. They care about chain of custody, court-ready files, and FOIA requests. One broken step can destroy a case.

Product 02 · EnterpriseTube

Enterprise Video

Sells to IT leaders and communications managers. They care about security, single sign-on, and a video library that stays a tool, not a threat.

Product 03 · Redactor

AI Redaction

Sells to lawyers, journalists, and business owners. They need to hide private information fast, and they do not yet trust that AI does it right.

Same logo. Same company. Three buyer worlds that share almost no vocabulary. I wrote for all of them without letting one voice bleed into another.

The Mandate
What I was hired to do

One strategist. Three products. And a creative team I directed.

Product Marketing Strategist, July 2023 to 2024. I did the research, then wrote everything built on it: blogs, press releases, sales email series, product pages, interface text, and video scripts, across all three products at once. I worked with a team too. Some at my level, some junior. I briefed and directed the graphics and video team for videos, social posts, and infographics, and guided junior writers on their drafts.

The writing can speak for itself. Start with the featured exhibit below, quoted at length with the brief that shaped it. Blog · EnterpriseTube · Fashion Retail Published on the VIDIZMO blog

A fashion-retail blog that sells with numbers, not adjectives.

Written forTraining managers at global fashion retailers
Their goalTrain staff in 20+ countries so every store sounds the same
Proof usedMcKinsey, Statista, and Forbes, cited inline with numbers
TimeframeBuilt on 2024 growth data, published while it was fresh

The piece never opens on the product. It opens on the reader's real problem: a workforce spread across the world that has to sound the same in every store. And it answers the obvious objection out loud instead of hiding from it. Here is a longer passage, exactly as published:

Providing in-person training to the growing number of employees is not a sustainable solution.

But can you completely drop the idea of employee training? Surely not!

The answer lies in scalable video training solutions. Unlike geographically limited in-person sessions, video training transcends borders and time zones.

One store in Beijing, the other in New York? Not a problem. Every employee watches the same training, hears the same brand voice, and learns the same standard.

The fashion industry is set to grow by 2–4% in 2024 (McKinsey). That means more staff in more countries. For retailers whose brand depends on consistency, video training is not an option. It is a requirement.

Then I earn the claim with a sourced number, not an adjective:

learning through videos is more effective, leading to a remarkable 95% information retention rate, compared to just 10% for text. Forbes, cited inline

Notice what carries the argument: named sources with real numbers. The product does not even appear until the reader already agrees with the problem. I held every piece to that 80/20 rule: at least 80% useful to the reader, at most 20% about the product.

The piece closes on proof a fashion buyer cannot ignore: Louis Vuitton already runs on EnterpriseTube.
Blog Writing
What I wrote and why

Every piece started with a brief I wrote myself, never a blank page.

Every piece started with a brief, and I wrote the briefs too. Before I drafted a single word, I ran the keyword research, checked what competitors had already published, planned the full article, and got my plan approved. This section holds all of my blog work in one place: my process, four published samples you can open for a breakdown, and two full writing passages at the end.

A note on links: corporate blogs get revised and republished over time, so links go stale. What you read here are my original versions, exactly as I submitted them.

11 Ways Technology Is Changing Criminal Justice

Written for attorneys and prosecutors, not just IT buyers.

OpenThe breakdown
From the DEMS section

"VIDIZMO handles audiovisual evidence without breaking chain of custody. With multi-tenant access, partner agencies can share files without losing their own evidence records."

What I built around it

I put VIDIZMO inside a bigger story about criminal justice changing, not just a feature list. That framing is what made attorneys read it.

Before every article, a full plan: main keyword and search volume, secondary keywords, product page mapping, target reader, article argument, and acceptance criteria. Approved before I wrote a single word. Some pieces were also revamps, where I rebuilt an underperforming post around fresh research.

Switching worlds was my daily job.

On a normal working day I might write for a police chief in the morning, a hospital compliance officer after lunch, and an artist by evening, while planning social posts and briefing the video team in between. Break the Mold: Showcase Your Art with Online Video Platforms

When we think about art, we typically imagine an art gallery featuring beautiful paintings or a spellbinding sketch.

But art extends far beyond static presentations.

Remember how badly artists suffered when galleries worldwide shuttered during the pandemic?

It was a stark wake-up call for artists everywhere to re-evaluate their art display strategies and consider alternative platforms.

Online Video Platforms for Artists: A Big "YES" or a "NO-NO"?

Today, people no longer have spare time to attend art fairs, museums, or auction houses. Sadly, but that's reality.

The online art market boomed in 2023, reaching nearly $12 billion. A staggering increase that nearly doubled sales from 2019, now representing almost 20% of the global art market's total value.

The message is simple. Your audience already moved online. The question is whether your work followed them there.

Bridging Privacy Gaps: The Significance of PHI Redaction in Healthcare

As healthcare providers increasingly rely on digital technologies, protecting patient privacy is more crucial than ever. With the rise of electronic medical records, concerns about safeguarding sensitive health information have reached unprecedented levels.

Privacy is a fundamental right that applies to all aspects of your life, including your health data.

People are understandably reluctant to share their personal data. An American Medical Association survey found that nearly 75% are worried about the privacy of their health records.

In January 2024 alone, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services received reports of 61 incidents involving unauthorized access of healthcare data, impacting over 500 medical records.

But can any ordinary redaction software effectively anonymize sensitive medical information?

Given the surge in data security incidents, HHS has outlined Cybersecurity Performance Goals to help healthcare organizations implement high-impact measures. While these measures are inevitable, the Office for Civil Rights has made it clear that these goals reflect only the baseline security practices.

Look at the difference. Sample A is warm and quick, because an artist in the awareness stage wants to feel understood. Sample B leads with the American Medical Association and ends on the regulator, because a compliance officer trusts sources, not warmth. Same writer, same week, and this switch happened every single day. Matching the voice to the reader, on demand, is the whole skill.

Sales Enablement
Leadership · Planning · Sales Enablement

I led sales enablement end to end: the research, the battle cards, and the words that win deals.

A battle card is a one-page comparison sheet the sales team lives by. A rep uses it live in the middle of a call, and just as often the card is sent to the prospect as-is, so they can read it and analyze the comparison themselves. Either way, the buyer sees the exact words. That makes this work client-facing with zero margin for error: one wrong detail costs the deal and the trust.

So before I wrote a single objection line, I tested every feature myself and checked each claim against the competitor's own documents and our lost-deal notes. Twelve platforms. Twelve cards. Then I presented the whole thing to the sales team so they walked into those calls prepared.

Why I masked the competitor names: the full research sits under my NDA with VIDIZMO, and I honor it even on my own portfolio. I would guard your competitive research exactly the same way.

My method: questions, not claims. It changed how the team sold.

On every card, I paired each competitor gap with a question the rep asks, never a claim the rep makes. A few examples, with the names masked:

"Which body cameras does their platform accept footage from, besides their own?"
"Have they shown you the chain-of-custody report a court would ask for?"
"What happens to your files if you ever leave their ecosystem?"

The rep asserts nothing. The buyer reaches the conclusion alone, and a buyer who gets there alone defends it against the next vendor who walks in. I also wrote one thing on every card that the competitor did better than us. I put our own weakness in front of the sales team before a prospect could, and that honesty is why the reps trusted the cards enough to send them out.

The objection

"We're already evaluating A··n."

What I gave the rep

"A··n locks you into their body cameras. We take 255 file formats from any device you already own."

The objection

"N··E is the bigger name in evidence."

What I gave the rep

"N··E isn't on AWS. If FedRAMP is anywhere on your roadmap, that conversation ends there."

The objection

"P····o's been around longer."

What I gave the rep

"They moved to enterprise-only pricing and shut out the mid-market. That's why their customers are calling us."

The objection

"C····d is cheaper."

What I gave the rep

"It's desktop-bound. Ask them what happens when a second analyst needs the same file."

Twelve of these. Every point traced back to a source: a competitor's own pricing page, a lost-deal note, a closed-won interview, or a feature I tested with my own hands. None of them are clever. All of them are true. That is the difference between a positioning line and something a rep will actually risk saying to a buyer.

The Research Behind The Cards
I read twelve competitors so the sales team did not have to.

Twelve platforms. Every buyer type in the funnel. Five compliance rulebooks. I mapped which pain points were real, which were vendor theatre, and which features we were missing. Some of what I found shipped into the product.

And my research reached further than marketing usually gets to go. I built two full feature scoring matrices, one for the Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS) and one for EnterpriseTube, scoring 54 capabilities against six real client proposals and eleven competitors. The product team used them to decide what to build next. Marketing research rarely touches the roadmap. Mine did.

I was named a subject matter expert on VIDIZMO's internal sales training, alongside the CEO and a senior leader. I led the competitor comparison and sales resource sections. Leadership trusted my research enough to teach it to the sales team.

Launch Plan

I mapped the whole market for Redactor. Then I presented it to the CEO.

Leadership asked me to build the digital marketing plan for the Redactor line. I went further than the ask. I mapped every industry that creates redaction demand to its real buying triggers and its regulators, planned five channels, and designed the content system to support all of it.

While building it, I also found gaps in how business development was working: buyer segments we were not reaching, and channels running without a clear reason. I wrote it all up and presented the full plan to Chief Executive Nadeem Khan and the marketing team.

Inside the product itself

From feature documents to the text inside the product.

I wrote the feature documents that defined each problem, solution, and buyer. I wrote full website pages. And I wrote the interface text inside EnterpriseTube itself: every tooltip, every label. I wrote tooltip text for every screen: Home, Media Library, Upload, Live Webcast, Quiz Builder, Survey Builder, Content Creation, and Settings. Interface writing is a different skill from marketing writing. I did both.

My campaign carried VIDIZMO in front of 16,000 public safety professionals at the world's largest police conference: the wire release, the 31-day social plan, and films for all three products.

Trusted by leadership

Leadership named me Subject Matter Expert on internal sales training, alongside the CEO. They trusted my competitor research enough to have me teach it to the sales team.

A seat at the CEO's table

Presented the full Redactor market plan directly to Chief Executive Nadeem Khan, including the gaps I found in how business development was reaching buyers.

Shaped the product itself

My competitor research went into the product roadmap. Two feature scoring matrices, scored against six real client proposals and eleven competitors, guided what the product team built next.

Opened a new market

I found and opened a brand-new buyer segment: investigative journalism. An audience VIDIZMO had never targeted, discovered through my own research and published for.

Full stack, one strategist

Every channel fed by one person: blogs, wire releases, email series, battle cards, product pages, interface text, video scripts, and a creative team directed through all of it.

Exact revenue and pipeline numbers stay under my NDA with VIDIZMO. What I can share: the ~40% lift in free trial sign-ups came from content and campaigns alone, with no paid ads. And this case file only shows the work I can prove publicly. The role was bigger: content calendars, ongoing competitor monitoring, roadmap reviews, and cross-team planning. This page is a floor, not a ceiling.
